Punjab IG for quick resolution of complaints received through Citizen’s Portal, 8787 centre

Punjab Police Inspector General Shoaib Dastgir has said that timely and quick resolution of complaints received through Pakistan Citizen’s Portal and 8787 Complaint Cell is among our top priority, therefore, Addl IG Investigation Punjab should personally monitor such complaints received by all these forums and all available resources along with taking all possible steps should be utilized for quick resolution of these applications so that process of resolution of issues faced by the citizens may be speeded up.

He further said that Additional IG Investigation should put up its recommendations and suggestions within one week by deeply examination of case studies so that investigation process may be made more effective and hardened crimes may be stopped and in the light of these recommendations, the investigation officers may be issued further guidelines and SOPs.

He moreover said that for enhancement of efficiency of investigation officers, modern training modules and refresher courses and workshops based upon investigation skills should be held so that performance of officers may be improved and they may provide quick justice to the citizens by resolving their problems. He further added that, all record and data with respect to crime and investigation should be timely fed into the system and in this regard, investigation and IT branches should keep a close coordination so that record should be upgraded besides quick elimination of criminals. These directions were given by IG Punjab while he was chairing a session held for assessment of working of Investigation Branch Punjab and its performance.

During the session, Addl IG Investigation Fiaz Ahamd Dev briefed about different projects and Departmental matters, during the briefing, IG Punjab while directing, said that for improving the standard of policing, increase in investigation and conviction rate is necessary therefore all field officers with their personnel attention, hard work and commitment should ensure timely resolution of all cases and in this regard, modern technology and forensic science should be benefitted to the maximum end. He further said that besides taking advantage from criminal record management system, timely entry of data of criminal persons should be ensured and if any citizen applies for change in investigation then it should be considered effectively whereas action in accordance with the discipline matrix shall be taken against those officers who show irresponsible attitude towards investigation.

In the session, Addl IG investigation Fiaz Ahmad Dev, DIG Crime Investigation Masood Saleem and AIG monitoring Ammara Athar alongwith other officers were present.
