ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has ordered an enquiry into the urea scam. According to media reports, the decision was taken in a meeting of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) chaired by the finance minister. As per media reports, the ECC had decided on January 16, 2014 to equalise the prices of imported urea with the price of locally purchased urea. The decision in this regard was implemented through the National Fertiliser Company and during the Rabi season, the price of urea fell in local market, due to the decrease in its prices at the international level. Therefore, prices of rice, wheat and sugarcane also fell.
