Sukkur ‘assailants’ freed after Adeeb Rizvi pardoned them

SUKKUR: Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) on Saturday said that ‘assailants’ involved in manhandling and firing at SIUT Chablani Medical Centre Sukkur were released after SIUT Director Prof Adib Rizvi forgave them.

As per SIUT statement, the incident of manhandling and fired by the ‘assailants’ upon the security guards of SIUT Chablani Medical Centre Sukkur on June 06, 2017. An FIR was lodged and assailants were held in judicial custody.

Locals took to social media to express outrage after the news spread that a political leader threatening SIUT Chablani Medical Centre Sukkur with the help of his cronies. However SIUT did not mention any name in its press release.

According to the sources on the recommendation of Dr Iqbal Daudpota Incharge of SIUT Sukkur following unconditional apology by MPA Abid Bhayo and his accomplices, they were forgiven and released.

“After unconditional apology by the two persons involved and their families, on the recommendation of Dr Iqbal Daudpota Incharge of SIUT Sukkur, the Director of SIUT Prof Adib Rizvi forgave them and they were released,” it said.

No damage to property and facilities of SIUT occurred in the incident, the statement said.

SIUT also appreciated the role of Commissioner Sukkur and Larkana in resolving the incident.
