KP CM asks media to raise issues of public importance

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the provincial government and its cabinet believe in the freedom of speech and the positive and effective role of the media for durable progress of society.

He was talking to the media at Nowsehra Press Club. On the occasion, he distributed allotment letters of plots among journalists. He said that the media should keep vigilant eyes on the ongoing government performance and raise the voices of the people without any political affiliation.

Pervez Khattak said that the provincial government had put all their energies for the public welfare and therefore the media should support the government. He said that media professionals should play their due role in the drive of the provincial government against corruption and nepotism.

He said that the provincial government had presented a balance budget to provide relief to the common man and all steps had been taken for poverty alleviation.

Information Secretary Arshad Majeed, Additional Secretary Saeed Turk, Nowsehra Deputy Commissioner Khawaja Sikandir Zaman and others were also present on the occasion.

“The government of the PTI has taken unprecedented steps for the welfare of the journalists and related professionals, and has planned to establish markets for newspaper sellers,” the CM said.
