Land mafia starts construction on grabbed land worth billions

ISLAMABAD: The influential land grabbing mafia, under the umbrella of the police has started construction of houses on a grabbed piece of land worth billions of rupees. A renowned family which hails from the federal capital is forced to run from pillar to post for its legal right but in vain. According to investigations made by Daily Times, it was seen that the property of 265 kanals at Sara-e-Madhu, the suburb of Islamabad, is the inherited property belonging to Moeenuddin Khan (late), Bahduruddin Khan, Kamaluddin Khan and Baharuddin Khan. But a  famous political personality of Islamabad and the of land mafia captured this piece of land illegally by using hooligans. Kamaluddin Khan and others who are the real owners of the property had to knock almost all the doors including the Ministry of Interior, the Islamabad High Court and the IG Police’s office in their quest for justice. The interior ministry and even the courts of law seemed to be ineffective in this connection as they have kept silent on the matter. The Islamabad High Court had issued a stay order and also instructed the Capital Territory Police to take action to prevent illicit land grabbing, but the culprits put the court orders in doldrums and increased their force of ruffians at the site. Kamaluddin who is a noble man by nature gave an application to the Interior Minister, Chuadhry Nisar Ali Khan, in which he requested the minister to help him in his fight against the land grabbers. But it appears as if the minister had thrown his application into the dust bin as the illegal activities of the land grabbers are continuing at the land. Kamal also submitted an application to the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, who constituted a special investigation team to probe the matter. Though the team started its working but it completely failed to prevent the malafide intentions of the land mafia. Several of the servants of Kamal including Babar, Ijaz and Safdar also gave applications at the Police Station Tarnol,  in which they told the police that land grabbers Arshad, Abid Khan, Qasim Khan, Mehmood, Javed, Babar, Shahid, Ali Raza, Bashir Khan, Khurram Shahzad and Syed Farrukh were busy in the  confiscating the property, which is actually owned  by their landlord Kamaluddin. They also informed the police that they forbade the wrongdoers many times but the grabbers were armed with the latest arms and ammunition, who not only gave life threats to them but also shoved them out of the property. The police after registering the cases put them under the dust of political recommendations and heavy bribe.
