After failing to appear twice, despite being in the country both the times, the opposition leader has been directed to appear in court today (Monday). According to sources, Shehbaz has been directed to appear along with the required documents at noon. Earlier, the PML-N president had submitted the required documents through his counsel, but the bureau was not satisfied with the reply.
In a declaration, the NAB claimed that according to law, Shehbaz Sharif should appear and provide the required information in person, and should cooperate with the corruption watchdog in the ongoing investigation against him. The country’s top graft buster had earlier asked Shehbaz to appear before its combined investigations team (CIT) on April 22. On April 17, Shehbaz had skipped a NAB hearing as he requested the court to exempt him from appearing before the NAB investigators till end of the coronavirus pandemic in view of his health conditions. The PML-N president had to appear before the CIT at its Lahore Office. The CIT had asked Shehbaz Sharif to submit bank details from 2005 to 2007.
