Sir: As soon as the holy month of Ramadan starts, prices of edible items, vegetables, fruits, and all other basic and necessary products go up by 30 to 40 percent every year. The profiteers and hoarders earn maximum money with less effort. Presently, price control committee and other government departments are unable to control commodities prices in Ramazan. This has not happened the first time. The previous government, too, were unable to control prices in Ramazan but they established Ramazan Bazars where you could get government-controlled commodities every year. People are already in financial constraints due to Coronavirus lockdown, and this type of price-hike are increasing the miseries of the masses.
