PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chapter of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take action against MQM chief Altaf Hussain under Article 6 of the constitution for his statements that ignited unrest in the country. Addressing a press conference on Monday at the Peshawar Press Club, PML-Q Provincial President Intikhab Chamkani said that Altaf Hussain and Farooq Sattar and their associates should abandon Pakistan for good. “Taking no action against them so far has created an expression that the federal government is acting like a facilitator of the MQM and its chief,” He alleged. He said that legal action under the Article 6 (High Treason) should be taken against Altaf Hussain for hurting the sentiments of the Pakistani nation as the country had got independence after thousands of sacrifices. Flanked by advocate Muazzam Butt and other office-bearers of the party, Chamkani maintained that that it was the need of the hour to take steps for the protection of the ideology of the country as he alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to deprive Pakistan of development and progress. He also condemned using of force against innocent Kashmiris and asked the government to provide weapons to Kashmiris for their self-defence as they were being targeted with pellet guns by Indian troops causing deaths and fatal injuries. However, he said that the reorganisation of the party across the country had been completed and preparations were being made for the general election to be held in 2018. He said that his party would support democracy in the country and would put resistance against any kind of internal threats to the incumbent government. On the occasion, Qari Saadullah Hanfi, the provincial office bearer of APML-N formally announced joining PML-Q along with family members and friends.
