Sir: It is a fact that unhealthy environment causes several types of dangerous disease in a country. It is reported by World Health Organisation (WHO) that12.6 million people have died as a result of living and working in an unhealthy environment in 2012 only and nearly. The environmental risk factors, such as water, air and soil pollution, chemical exposures, climate change and ultraviolet radiation contribute to more than 100 diseases and injuries.

According to WHO, the largest environment-related disease burden in 2012 with a total of 7.3 million deaths. Most attributable to in-door and out-door air pollution. The regional statistics listed in the report include 2.2 million deaths annually in African region, 847,000 deaths annually in regions of the America, 854,000 deaths annually in Eastern Mediterranean region, 1.4 million deaths annually in European region,3.8 million deaths annually in South-East Asia region and 3.5 million deaths annually in Western Pacific region.

So, there is an urgent need for investment in strategies to reduce environmental risks in cities, homes and workplaces and every country needs to pay attention on unhealthy environment and convert it to a healthy environment for saving the lives of people.
