Poorest of families from Sehwan hold protest for ration

A number of women belonging to poorest of families from Sehwan city – the constituency of Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah – finally broke the silence and came out of their houses in search for food. They staged a demonstration on the main road of the city and demanded ration from district administration and the Sindh government. The women, showing their identity cards of Sehwan city, raised slogans against the authorities as they did not receive any ration. They also raised slogans against the unfair distribution of ration.

“Only ration was distributed on favoritism and close to PPP affiliated persons and poorest families had not received ration” said Muradan Khatoon. “Our children were facing hunger and influential persons were hoarding ration,” said Amnat. Amnat said that we are roaming on the roads in search of food for their families but elected representatives were missing.

Assistant Commissioner Sehwan, Noor Ahmed Khuhro said that on the fake announcement and rumors of distribution of ration, big number of poorest families arrived at Jahaz Chowk in Sehwan city for receiving ration. He said that as soon as, administration of Sehwan received information about gathering of people, they were guided to disperse and they were returned to homes. He said that ration was distributed among 2000 poorest families in Sehwan city till yet by district administration and Philanthropists. . He said that elected PPP MNA Sardar Sikandar Ali Rahpoto, PTI activists, PPP leaders and social activists were still distributing ration among poorest families in Sehwan individually. He said that few old videos were also spread related to the protests of poorest families in Sehwan.
