Political infighting and point scoring over ration distribution among three main stream political parties in Karachi has reached at its peak even after a month of lockdown.

People in large has expressed regret that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQMP) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) have failed to deliver ration as they promised.

As per talking to masses on Karachi roads no political party is sincere with Karachiities all of these three political parties making background for local body election even they could not do so

A retired professor told that ambiguity in the statistics regarding the relief work provided by the government and political parties has increased the people’s concerns.

Owing to unending wait for ration bags, city residents have become fed up by the claims & promises of the government’s and political parties providing relief to the poor and needy people of the city.

Frustrated people of metropolis also slated the Sindh government’s failure in providing unanimous distribution of ration and other relief goods.

Deputy Secretary Information, Pakistan People’s Party Karachi division, Asif Khan told that Pakistan People’s Party had neither collected Chanda from poor people of Pakistan nor run any fundraising campaign across the country & abroad. depending on individual capacity & ability, the workers of the PPL have distributed rations to the underprivileged households without any photo shoot, Khan told to Dailytimes.

KKF spokesperson and senior member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) told daily times that MQMP has distributed about one lac ration bags among deserving households their door steps and more than 10,000 bags are being distributed in different parts of the city.
Serving humanity, our party had set up blood donation camp in Karachi and Hyderabad for the patients of thalassemia and served ration. Added MQM leader.

On the other hand a lady, Laiq un Nisa from Landhi who received food from MQMP said, “I don’t have words to describe the sub standard ration adding that for the sake of foods we have been made fool.”

Secretary Finance Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Sindh, Arsalsn Taj told Dailytimes that PTI had accomplished more than 1.5 laces ration bags distribution by following the different patterns to the deserving families.
“To keep the distribution process transparent and delivering the ration to the maximum people we took on board our Elected members, Runners up of 2018 General Elections , Local Bodies Elected Members and PTI district organizations. we procured the ration bags in to Utility Stores and Sylaani Wrlfare Trust.” He explained.

On the other hand a key member of PTI, Najeeb Haroon has already resigned due to mismanagement in ration distributi

Earlier, PTI senior leader Haleem Adil Sheikh said that Rs 17 billion had been distributed among 1.4 million needy families of the province under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme and under the program Rs. 144 billion would be distributed among 12 million needy families of the country.

There is a wider concerns found among citizens that distributing the food items at the door steps of needy families rather than inviting them to hurt their feelings, were only verbal claims by all stake holders.

Regardless of what the government spent on the people by people’s own tax money , the question arises as to what the politicians have done for the people within their personal capacity, the answer might never be found.
