Bahrain has always helped us in odd times: Ishrat

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has said that Bahrain has always extended a helping hand in up lift of the infrastructure facilities in the province and it has also contributed by immediately responding to all natural disasters occurring in Sindh.

He said this while addressing at a special convocation of Indus University to award honorary degrees of doctorate of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) to Consul General of Bahrain; Ebrahim Ahmed Isa Al Hajazi yesterday at Governor House. Consul Generals of various Arab states, Advisor to Governor Sindh for Higher Education Syed Wajahat Ali, Secretary to Governor Sindh, Akhtar Ghori, Chairman Indus University, Khalid Amin, Vice Chancellor and faculty members of the University were also present on the occasion.

Governor Sindh said that people of the province are thankful and indebted for the immediate help and assistant of Kingdom of Bahrain during the 2010 and 2011 floods which enabled the affecters to a great extent in resuming their normal life.

He said that Ebrahim Ahmed in his capacity as Consul General has rendered valuable services for the provision of basic amenities to the masses and promotion of social, cultural and economic activities in the province. Today’s event is recognition of his valuable services, he added.

He hoped that the relations between the two countries would be further cemented by the passage of time, due to the efforts of Mr. Ebrahim Ahmed.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ebrahim Ahmed Isa Al Hejazi thanked the Governor and the management of Indus University for awarding him an honorary degree in recognition of his services. He said that he would continue to strive for further improvement in the relations between Pakistan and Bahrain.

Later, Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, conferred honorary degree of doctor of Philosophy to Ebrahim Ahmed Isa Al Hejazi Consul General of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mohamed Al-Khalid Consul General of the state of Kuwait, Mr. Mohamed Abdullah Abdudayem Consul General of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Saad Abdullah Al Shareef Consul General of Qatar, Nasier Howadan Al Katbi Consul General of United Arab Emirates and Abdullah Al Shamsi Acting Consul General of Oman were also present on the occasion.
