KARACHI: Police on Tuesday seized a considerable quantity of snake and turtle meat during a raid in Thatta, some 92 kilometers from here.
According to media reports, no arrest was made in the raid as a suspect, whose identity was not revealed, managed to flee before the officers swooped.
The police said the suspect was involved in the smuggling of snake and turtle meat to hotels in Karachi. Names of the hotels were also not known. A number of reptile and turtles that were found alive in the raid were handed over to officials from the Wild Life Department.
