Income tax ordinance amendment challenged in LHC

LAHORE: A citizen has filed a petition in Lahore High Court against giving authority of implementation of property tax to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) through amendments in income tax.

The hearing on petition was conducted by Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza in which the petitioner Shahid Ayaz said that citizen have paying already three types of taxes on property.

Ayaz said that the federal government has now further amended the income tax rules and gave FBR the authority of implementation of tax. The court issued notice to FBR and federal government and adjourned the hearing.
