KP CM reviews coronavirus situation, arrangements made by district admin

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani paid a one-day visit to Abbottabad district to review the coronavirus situation and the arrangements made by the district administration to contain the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the details, the Chief Minister visited Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) Abbottabad and inaugurated Molecular (PCR) Laboratory. The newly established lab will cater to the testing requirements of corona suspects at the division level. He visited a quarantine center established at Kunj Football ground to review the arrangements put in place there.

Provincial Ministers for food & E&SE, Qalandar Khan Lodhi, Akbar Ayub Khan, MNA Abbottabad, Ali Khan Jadoon, Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Kazim Niaz, Inspector general of Police Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah Abbasi, Secretary Health Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Commander 19 Division from Pakistan Army, Commissioner Hazara Division, DIG Hazara Range, Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Additional DC Abbottabad, Dean /CEO Ayub Medical College, DHO Abbottabad, MS DHQ Abbottabad were also present on the occasion.

Talking to media men on the occasion, Mahmood Khan said that besides important steps to effectively deal with the corona situation, the provincial the government was working on increasing the testing capacity for the corona suspects across the province adding that public health laboratories were being established at all divisional headquarters of the province to cater to it.

He termed the establishment of the Molecular (PCR) Lab at ATH Abbottabad as important progress and bring the achievement of the provincial the government in this regard stating that the laboratory will cater to the futuristic need of testing for the entire Hazara division in case of any epidemic.

Mahmood Khan maintained that instead of holding meetings in his office, he preferred to go in the field and review the arrangements made by the district administrations to deal with the prevailing situation adding that being the Chief Minister, it was his foremost duty to take care of every area and every individual of the province and that’s why he has visited all the divisional headquarters

Expressing his utmost satisfaction over the arrangements made by the district administration and district health office, Mahmood Khan said that efforts being made by the administration would not yield the desired results if the citizens did not extend cooperation and urged upon the citizens to cooperate with the local administration by minimizing they are unnecessary movements and maintaining socials distancing.

CM termed the performance of the medical staff and the administrative officers a great achievement and said that the passion and dedication that the medical staff and the administrative officers had shown in prevention and treatment of coronavirus would certainly help his government succeed in this mission.

Earlier, the Chief Minister and Speaker KP Assembly were given a detailed briefing by the district administration regarding the arrangements made in the prevailing situation.
