ISLAMABAD: The police could not solve the mystery of the burning alive of seven people of a family at a posh area of Rawalpindi even after the lapse of one year.
The poor old father of the deceased knocked all the doors for justice but the police is not registering the case for the last one year.
Daily Times made an investigation which revealed that on June 17 , 2015 , a resident of Chaklala Scheme III, Shaukat Ashraf, under the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station was sleeping on the upper storey of the house with his wife and five children, when his close relative and tenant Shahzad Anjum, who was greedy by nature set ablaze the house as he wanted to grab his property worth millions of rupees.
The accused, Shahzad Anjum, was afraid of Shaukat’s second wife Aisha, because she came to know his malafide intensions and wanted to tell her husband that he was behind their property. Shaukat Ashraf had five children from his first wife who died and he married a girl Aisha.
After marriage Aisha took over the control of domestic affairs in a befitting manner . When she came to know about the horrible plan of Anjum to confiscate the property of her husband , she had a skirmish with the accused’s wife on the matter. First of all Aisha told her father Amin, but he denied to interfere in the personal matter of their home and advised his daughter to speak with her husband on the issue.
Shahzad made out that Aisha who was not only well aware of his dirty plan but was also going to tell her husband about it at any time, changed his plan and put fire on the upper storey of the house, which was in the use of the late Shaukat.
The accused had rescued his family but did not tell anyone about Shaukat’s family, including his wife Aisha and children Ahsan, Mohsin, Umer, Usman and Fatima who were sleeping at the upper storey of the house, due to which the father , the mother and their five children could not be rescued in time and they were all killed in the inferno.
Daily Times also came to know that the brother of Shaukat was also scorched in the fire.
Muhammad Amin who is the father of Aisha said he ran from pillar to post for justice but the police did not register an FIR.
He said that the police took the plea that according to the postpartum report the deaths occurred due to suffocation.
He told this scribe that now Anjum Shahzad had grabbed the house where he murdered seven persons and had become the owner of the entire property.
It looked like the accused also bribed the police heavily for not taking action on the case. Amin alleged and requested Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar to get a case registered into the murder of seven family members.
