CJP seeks report from IGP on Fahad murder

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali, while taking notice of Barrister Fahad Malik’s murder case has sought a report from the IG Islamabad within a week.

The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has handed over Noman Khokhar, the major accused in Fahd Malik’s murder case to the police on a 5-day physical remand.

Judge Syed Kausar Abbas of the ATC Islamabad took up for hearing Barrister Fahad Malik’s murder case on Wednesday.

The main culprit Noman Khokhar was presented in the court on the expiry of his 3-day physical remand.

The investigation officer requested that the physical remand of the accused Noman Khokhar be extended for further investigation of the case and the arrest of other accused persons. He killed Fahd Malik along with his accomplices.

The court expressed displeasure over the non conducting of a medical check-up of the accused Noman Khokhar and directed the police to file s medical report of Noman Khokhar.

The court while extending the physical remand of Noman Khokhar for five days ordered the police to present him again on September.

The accused Noman Khokhar was presented before the local court in the recovery of illegal arms case.

The duty judge, Abdul Hafiz, accepted his bail plea against a surety bond of Rs 50000.

Stringent security measures were taken on the occasion of the hearing of the case.

Noman Khokhar is the prime accused in Barrister Fahad Malik’s murder case. He was arrested from the court premises following cancellation of his interim bail on August 27.

He was presented before the court on Wednesday for the third time and was handed over to the police on a five-day physical remand.

The second main accused in this case, Raja Arshid was arrested from Torkhum border while he was attempting to flee to some other country. A case for attempting to flee to some other country from Landi Kotal has also been registered against Raja Arshad. Islamabad Police have left for Landi Kotal to arrest Raja Arshid in Fahad Malik’s murder case.

It is pertinent to mention here that Raja Arshad had obtained preventive bail from the Multan bench of LHC till August 30 but he tried to escape to another country before the expiry of his bail period.
