It is always invigorating to watch new writers immersed into the world of writing, but even more revitalising when the books gives you lessons that impacts your life, influences and motivate.

Mostly young authors endeavour to write fictional books but Shan Naqvi, an entrepreneur, ventured the tiresome and exhausting genre ‘business’. The book which he had written is “50 steps: The Critical Tasks Every Successful Founder Complete in their 1st Year”, co authorized by Jacob Aldridge, an author, who is among top ten business coaches in Australia.

Shan Naqvi, who is the first to write a book, as a lead author, on business with an Australian native speaker Jacob Aldridge, belongs from Pakistan. He is only author whose book, especially on business, had been published by Amazon.

This book comprises of 50 chapters, as refer to its title and most of the chapter’s average five-six page, which in my opinion is suitable length for readers that avoids boredom. The discussion of the book comes from author experiences and their interviews.

I have gone through many motivational books and had listen numerous motivational speaker that exemplifies us from historical perspective or from their own lives, but this book not only motivates but it breaks the common and psychological barriers which are entrenched in our mind; like copying the business of others and thinking that it will work with us (explained in chapter 4).

The first chapter ‘Like Swimming and (Sex)’, seeks the attention of reader in one gaze and begins in the humorous way, “Our belief is that entrepreneurship – starting your own business – has things in common with swimming and with sex: You can’t learn how to do any of them from reading a book. At some point, you just have to jump in, see what it feels like, and practice until you improve. So why did we write a book about something you can’t learn from a book! Because, like with swimming and sex, we want you to be safe when you plunge into the exhilarating world of owning your own business.” This is an exciting way to attract the readers by teaching entrepreneurship in the language commonly adhered, and that is important step in the business (formation of words).

Another humorous example written in Chapter 10 ‘Brand and Name’ goes, I picked on somebody in the audience and asked “What do you do?” He replied, “We give Brides an excellent experience.” “That’s great, and that sounds nice and that’s helpful. But what is it you do?”

“Well you know, we set clear expectations with Brides on their wedding day. And we make sure they’ve got no stress.” I said again, “That’s fantastic, that sounds really helpful. But what is it that you do?” Can you believe this went back and forth three or four more times, until he finally acknowledged that “he was a limousine business”?

Books on entrepreneurship are not easy to write and those which are already in the market are not easy to read due their typical language which instigate boredom but ’50 steps’ is written in vivid language that it is easy to understand and impractical to forget. There isn’t unnecessary embellishment of words and flowering of vocabulary, which makes it even more impressive.

So if you are beginning to start a business; stuck in the current business; your business is not running as it should been or if u want to start a business but the ideas are deceptive to yourself, then the book “50 steps: The Critical Tasks Every Successful Founder Complete in their 1st Year” by Shan Naqvi, might help you to achieve the success in your business.

This book, so far, had taught me the importance of determining what your goal is and what efforts it would take to achieve it. It also helps to market your brand- defines it, and how to converse with people and how to make them focus on your ideas in positive way with suitable and less words because time is precious for everyone. It also helps you to control the emotions in difficult downward situation, when your business is out of the run; at that moment what we need is patience, because ‘it remains the case that half of all new businesses have closed within three years’ (written in the prologue of the book).
