ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly session is to be held today (Friday), expected to feature heated debates on MQM founder and party chief Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan remarks.
According to details, the National Assembly session will feature opposition parties bringing forth resolutions condemning MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s speech on August 22 in which he spoke against Pakistan and incited his supporters to attack a media house’s office.
Reports from a couple of days ago had also indicated that MQM itself would present a resolution in parliament, condemning Altaf Hussain’s speech. The party has already removed Altaf Hussain’s name from its constitution and flags.
Before the NA session commences, a House Business Advisory Committee meeting will be held, which will be presided over by Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The meeting will focus on finalizing the agenda for the National Assembly session.
Earlier, senior MQM leader Wasay Jalil had stated that no resolution presented in the parliament against party chief Altaf Hussain would be tolerated.
