Suicide blast at Mardan’s court leaves 12 killed, 41 injured

PESHAWAR: At least 11 people killed and 40 injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the entrance of Mardan’s district and sessions court on Friday just hours after a terror attack in Peshawar’s Christian Colony.

According to details, the suicide bomber exploded at courts gate while the second blast, produced by a hand grenade, occurred inside. A heavy contingent of security forces have secured the area while emergency has been imposed on Hospitals in the area.

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have condemned the attacks and expressed solidarity with families of those killed. PM Nawaz said, “The terrorists are being shattered by the security forces, due to which they are retaliating. We will not spare them, they will be wiped out from ever corner of the country.”

The district and sessions court area of Mardan is said to be one the busiest areas in the morning which hints that the terrorists goal was to ensure maximum amount of civilian casualties. It is pertinent to mention here that the terrorist attempt has occurred only hours after a terror bid were foiled by security forces in Peshawar Christian colony.
