Fahad Malik murder case prime accused handed over to police

ISLAMABAD: The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has handed over Raja Arshad, the prime accused in Barriser Fahad Malik’s murder case to the police on a three-day physical remand. The court also directed the police to arrange a medical check-up of the accused. Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi, of the ATC Islamabad, took up for hearing Fahad Malik’s murder case on Friday. The prime accused, Raja Arshad, was produced in the court under stringent security arrangements. The police requested the court to grant a remand of the accused and the court accepted this plea and remanded Raja Arshad to police custody for three days. The court, while directing the police to get a medial check-up of the accused Raja Arshad carried out, also ordered for producing him before it on September 5. As many 10 counsels of the accused were present in the court during his appearance. It is pertinent to mention here that the accused Raja Arshad had absconded after the murder of Barrister Fahad Malik. During his absconding he obtained a preventive bail from the Lahore High Court Multan bench, which expiring on August 30. However he tried to flee the country fearing his arrest following the cancellation of bail and arrest of the second prime accused Noman Khokhar. The name of Raja Arshad was placed on the ECL under the orders of the ministry of interior. He was arrested on August 28 while trying to flee to Afghanistan via Torkham. He was handed over to the federal police on September, 1. Noman Khokhar, the second prime accused in the case was presented before the ATC Islamabad, on August 31. He was handed over to the police on a five-day remand. The two accused will be presented before the ATC Islamabad on September, 5.
