LAHORE: Young and talented actress Ushna Shah expects her recently released feature film ‘Teri Meri Love Story’, her first venture on the big screen, to receive acclaim and encouragement from the masses, as it offers nonstop entertainment.
During an exclusive interview with Daily Times, Ushna said originality and uniqueness of the script encouraged her to sign for the film, adding that she liked her character, as it was cheerful, fun loving and different from the routine damsel in distress character often seen in dramas.
‘Teri Meri Love Story’, which was released across the country on Friday, is an entertaining affair filled with humour, romance and action. Directed by Jawad Bashir and co-produced and distributed by Summit Entertainment and Hum Films, the film features an esteemed star cast including Mohib Mirza, Ushna Shah, Umar Shahzad, Uzma Khan, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Salman Shahid in lead roles.
“I play Eesha, the protagonist. Her indecisiveness in a love triangle causes chaos and takes the audience for a ride,” said Ushna, adding that the film is a rom-com with moments that would surely entertain audiences.
The Canadian-born actress, who is shifting her focus towards films after establishing a name in the drama industry, thanked her director as well as co-actors for encouraging her during the course of the shoot. “I am completely indebted to Jawad along with the entire crew of ‘TMLS’ for being patient with me and also for building an atmosphere where we felt as if we were working with friends or family members. The camaraderie among actors is reflected well in the film. Every actor brought a unique flavour to the ensemble, and I really enjoyed working with all of them,” she added.
The young actress, who began her acting career in the drama serial ‘Khudgarz’, envisions venturing into writing and direction in the future. She believes that she came into the industry at the right time, as the industry was already in its revival phase. “The industry is offering excellent opportunities to young artists and it’s in our hands to raise its level through quality work,” she arrested.
Ushna suggested aspiring actors to remain focused on what’s important. “If you’re in it for fame, it won’t be worth it,” she opined.
