Traffic jam in Rawalpindi; woman dies

RAWALPINDI: Worst type of traffic jam is being witnessed in different localities of Rawalpindi after containers were placed by law enforcement agencies, besides roads leading to each of the three allied hospitals of the city were close claiming a woman’s life as an ambulance was stuck.

District administration has stated that Dr Tahirul Qadri, chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek suddenly made plan to rally in the twin cities and thus arrangements on emergency basis were needed.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek is to lead a ‘Qisas’ rally in the twin cities in league with Awami Muslim League and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Murree Road from Liaquat Bagh to Rehmanabad.

Meanwhile, the administration has cleared all roads leading to Lal Haveli after Sheikh Rasheed warned of ‘paving their own ways’ if containers were not cleared for their participation in joint rally on Murree Road.

Rasheed warned the government of moving towards Islamabad and Benazir International Airport if movement of political workers to Rehmanabad from Liaquat Bagh was hindered.
