Opposition has no agenda to deal with coronavirus pandemic: Buzdar

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that opposition has no agenda to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the CM stated that frustrated opposition has disappointed the people on this important national issue. He said that 22 crore people of Pakistan have fully recognized the double standards of opposition parties. It doesn’t suite to those to talk about the ailing humanity who enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle in London for several months, he said and advised the opposition to avoid doing politics over coronavirus pandemic. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the federal and Punjab governments have taken every possible step to safeguard the lives of the people, he asserted. In fact, opposition parties are afraid of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sane approach and decisions having far-reaching impacts and the coronavirus outbreak will be overcome with the support of the people, concluded the CM.

Meanwhile, President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi visited the Corona Crisis Management Centre set up by the Punjab government at Civil Secretariat here on Wednesday. Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and Governor Ch. Muhammad Sarwar accompanied the President. President Arif Alvi inspected various sections and appreciated the performance adding that it is a good step of Punjab government for timely collection of the necessary information.

The President was briefed by ACS (Home) that this centre is working round the clock under the Home Department and every matter about coronavirus is being monitored. The information collected by the centre is immediately delivered to the concerned departments besides monitoring the situation in all the districts of the province.

The President directed to advertise all the departmental helplines and stressed for close inter-departmental coordination. He further directed to maintain updated data of coronavirus pandemic and appreciated the performance of Punjab government concerning Corona Crisis Management Centre.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar apprised the President about the steps taken by the provincial government to overcome coronavirus pandemic in the province. Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare further apprised about the data collection of the patients.

Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, Chief Secretary, IG Police and concerned officials were also present.

Separately, Provincial Minister for Literacy Raja Rashid Hafeez called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office here on Wednesday and presented a cheque worth one million rupees for Chief Minister’s Fund for Corona Control.

Talking on this occasion, the CM said the spirit of helping the affected people is commendable and the Pakistani nation has always helped its calamity-stricken brethren open-heartedly in the times of trial. Deserving people will get financial aid from this fund through a transparent process, he assured. This is not the time of politics but to serve the ailing humanity selflessly. We have to work together for overcoming coronavirus threat, he added. The CM deplored attempts being made by the opposition to divide the nation in this critical moment and asked them to come forward and stand with the people instead of any lip-service. Today, motherland demands us to show unity in our ranks and the people should follow the instructions of the government. The citizens should remain limited to their homes to avoid coronavirus as it will also help the government to win the war against coronavirus, concluded the CM.

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar become prominent on Twitter for taking affective measures to deal with coronavirus. The CM got appreciation due to the measures taken for the prevention of coronavirus and more than one lakh people applaud the steps taken by Buzdar government till 7:15 PM at night. On social networking site twitter, people gave excellent comments for the measures taken by Usman Buzdar in war against coronavirus, enhancing the testing facility besides increasing the number of labs.
