Authorities ‘seal’ four villages where COVID-19 cases emerged

The villagers of four coronavirus infected persons have been quarantined, while people continued to face shortage of food and other necessities in Piro Khel, Mirdad Khel, Shiekhmal Khel and Karamna areas of Landi Kotal.

It is to be mentioned here that on suspect ion lab tests of four persons, returned from Lahore had detected COVID-19 positive, who had been shifted to isolation ward, set up in Headquarter Hospital Landi Kotal.

A son of one COVID-19 effectee, Sartaj Khan of Piro Khel said that for the last four days, they had been restricted in their home without extending them aid.

He said that being a daily wager, food stock depleted in his home and he was forced to starve, as he was not allowed to leave the house owing to the lockdown.

All of his family members were healthy and well although not a single face mask had been provided to them, he opined.

The quarantined tribesmen in Karamna also lamented that more than 150 persons who had been limited to their residencies were facing lack of food items and asked the authorities to supply them food package.

It has been also revealed that readymade food, provided by the district administration to the 30 persons including patients, quraintined and the health members were announced sub-standard although, on complaint the district administration established kitchen in Landi Kotal to supply healthy food to them.
