KARACHI: Fifty-seven companies operating in Pakistan clinched environment excellence awards and four organisations, including DHA Karachi, won best tree plantation awards for their innovative work on environment conservation and cleanliness.
The awards were presented to the winners at the 13th Annual Environment Excellence Awards ceremony and conference on Making our cities more sustainable, organised by National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) at a local hotel recently.
Following Organisations Clinched best tree plantation Award, Pakistan Tobacco Company Ltd, Asian Foods Industries Ltd, DHA Go Green Karachi and Saylani Welfare Trust. Also, NFEH given away Green media awards to media person for their services in the environment awareness activities where are as follows: Anum Mashkoor, Shahzad Qureshi, Sana Burney and Hasan Hayat Khan.
Minister for Transport Sindh Nasir Hussain Shah and Sindh Climate Change Secretary Mir Ijaz Ahmed Talpur distributed awards among the winners. Sindh Social Welfare Minsiter Shamim Mumtaz, DG Environmental Protection Agecny Dr. Naeem Mughal, NFEH President Muhmmad Naeem Qureshi, AEEA Jury Head Shamsul Haq Memon, AEEA jury member Nadeem Arif, Ijaz Ahmed Khilji and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
