KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Pakistan Customs has launched Electronic Import Form (EIF) Module in WeBOC (Web Based One Custom) in order to monitor imports into the country.
The EIF system has been operational in Pakistan Customs with effect from September 1, according to central bank here on Monday.
The EIF Module has been developed in consultation with all relevant stakeholders including the importers, clearing agents, bankers, etc.
In last five months, a series of awareness sessions were conducted by a joint team of State Bank and Pakistan Customs joined by leading Chambers of Commerce across the country.
The importers could use their existing IDs to file the EIF in WeBOC which they (Importers) also use for filing the Goods Declaration. No additional formalities on EIF are required.
The EIF Module was widely publicized by the State Bank and Pakistan Customs through public notices, etc in the media. Comprehensive training sessions for Authorized Dealers (ADs) have also been conducted by the SBP to train the relevant bank staff of southern, central and northern regions of the country. The importers may contact respective branches of ADs or Pakistan Customs’ help desks at various collectorates around the country. Similarly, a user manual to guide the importers regarding filing of EIF in WeBOC is also available at the following link: sbp.org.pk/epd/2016/FEC5.
