RAWALPINDI: Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz unveiled a martyrs’ monument – Nishan-e-Haider – at the Bahria Hamlets, a project of the Bahria Town Rawalpindi.
The monument is built to honour those military personnel who have sacrificed their lives to protect the nation, showing incredible passion and extraordinary bravery.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Riaz highlighted the sacrifices of military in not only defending the national borders, but also disrupting enemy advances with an unprecedented display of unity and courage.
He shed light on the lessons learnt from previous wars Pakistan had fought. He said that unity; commitment and spirit of sacrifice when combined together could make a nation invincible and its border unconquerable. “We as a nation should work together in unity and do something practical for the families of military personnel who had sacrificed their lives to protect us.”
He announced fireworks display at Bahria Town Karachi today and Bahria Enclave tomorrow to mark the Defence Day of Pakistan.
