LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company has organised seminar on “Role of citizens in order to maintain cleanliness and Solid Waste Management on Eidul Azha” at local hotel on Monday. Punjab Environment Minister Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz, LWMC Chairman Ahmed Rafy Alam, Managing Director Bilal Mustafa, Ozpak Project Coordinator Afzal Shah, MPA Majid Zahoor, Environment Director General Dr Javed Iqbal, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) MD Hammad Naqi and other officials were present in the seminar. Speakers highlighted the subject from various aspects and emphasised the need for mutual collaboration between LWMC and district departments as well as common citizens. On the occasion, awareness stall was also setup to display and distribute informational and awareness pamphlets and broachers among people. Minister Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz reaffirmed the support of Punjab government to enhance and improve the living standard of people by ensuring clean and healthy cities. She said cleanliness in the city was not possible without the help of citizens and everyone should play their own role in collaboration with LWMC for the beautification of the city.
