ISLAMABAD: On the eve of Defence Day, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari paid homage to the heroes of the nation— those brave men and women who have laid down their lives and made huge sacrifices in fighting the militants and enemies of Pakistan.

He said the enemy keeps changing the garb and location. “Today our worst enemy is the extremist and the religious fanatic who lives among us, is terrorizing people and seeking to undermine our national sovereignty,” he said.

He said “it is also important to remember that the fight against the enemies can be won only if we adhered to the letter and spirit of the National Action Plan adopted unanimously by the nation.” “On this day we salute and pay homage to our martyrs who laid down their lives in upholding the honor of the country,” he said.
