Pakistan’s coronavirus tally jumps to 2458

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan soared to 2458 after new cases were confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Punjab with thirty-seven deaths on Friday.

The worldwide number of officially confirmed fatalities from the novel coronavirus rose to 52,000 on Friday, according to a tally compiled by AFP from official sources.

More than 1 million declared cases have been registered in 200 countries and territories since the epidemic first emerged in China in December. Of these cases, at least 182,700 are now considered recovered.

Total confirmed cases in Pakistan: 2,458

• Sindh: 783

• Punjab: 928

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 311

• Balochistan: 169

• Islamabad Capital Territory: 68

• Gilgit-Baltistan: 190

• AJK: 9
