Jirga orders boycott of rapist’s family

TAKHTBHAI: Residents of Salaak area here on Tuesday announced to socially boycott the family of criminals, who had killed a six-year-old minor girl Shab Noor, after subjecting her to abuse.

The announcement was made at a condemnation meeting of the provincial Amn Jirga chaired by Syed Kamal Shah at Salaak.

Speaking on the occasion the provincial president of the Amn Jirga, Syed Kamal Shah, urged the lawyers to not to plead the cases of the offenders.

He also announced to provide free legal assistance to the victim’s family. In this regard, a panel of lawyers led by Syed Yousaf Shah would lead the case of the minor victim’s family in a court of law.

It was also agreed upon at the meeting that residents of the area would also boycott those people who would make attempts of patch up between the families of both the victim and accused.

Among others, the provincial general secretary Arshad Manan, Haji Fazal Raziq, Maulana Imdadullah, Muhammad Akbar Khan and Abdul Latif, father of the victim, were also present on the occasion.

Participants of the jirga demanded of the authorities concerned to award exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of the crime.
