191 people kept in quarantine at Sukkur Civil Hospital cleared

Sukkur Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Tasleem Akhtar Khamisani on Wednesday said that 191 people kept in quarantine have been declared fit and healthy after spending more than 14 days.

Earlier, 302 people were moved from the Taftan border to Sukkur’s quarantine facility on March 14, he said and added that out of the 191 tested positive for coronavirus while the same amount of people tested negative.

In this connection, Commissioner Sukkur, Shafique Ahmed Mahesar said that the batch of people will be put through a final test for coronavirus which will determine their future, if tests come out negative, everyone could go back home.

He said that the mosque and seminary in Sukkur, which were already sealed to enable the screening of suspected coronavirus carriers, was turned into a temporary quarantine centre.

Meanwhile, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Sukkur Police Dr Kamran Afzal, Wednesday visited a quarantine centre established at Labour Colony and different sealed areas in the Sukkur and Khairpur districts regarding of suspected Covid-19 patients and distributed cash rewards among police officials deputed in these areas.

The AIG along with SSP Sukkur, Irfan Ali Samo and other senior police officials visited different areas of Sukkur and Khairpur districts sealed following the suspects of Covid-19 patients and distributed cash rewards among police officials deployed in these localities and also encouraged the police officials performing duties with commitment and dedication amidst prevailing outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

On his visit, the AIG Dr Kamran lauded commitment of police officials deployed in these areas he lauded commitment and dedication of police, Rangers and other personnel of law enforcement agencies deployed in these localities to serve the public at this hour of crisis.

On the other hand, 113 Tableeghi Jamaat People were quarantined into mosques of Maki mosque, Darul Fayooz, Bilwal Zour village, Markhpur, Murad Khan Jamali and , Fareedabad town, Mehar town, KN Shah town and Johi town mosques in Dadu district.

Heavy police staff was deployed and their movement was stopped. Still their screening test was not completed. DHO Dadu Dr Zahid Hussain Dawachh said that taking of blood samples were continuing of these all Tableeghi Jamaat. He said that process of tests was started. While, 14 Tableeghi Jamaat people were quarantined into a hostel of Sindh University Jamshoro.
