Lawlessness has increased to an extent that straws of rice kept at the guava orchid of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was burnt to ashes by unidentified criminals in Bhutto Estate located in village Izzat Ji Wandh within the limits of Ketty Mumtaz police station on Tuesday.

The accused also left a chit daringly asking for giving them monthly Rs 700,000 as extortion. The chit had also written on it a mobile number and the sender’s name was mentioned as Papu Punjabi. In this connection, when DSP Naundero Abdul Sattar Phull was contacted, he confirmed the news and said that monthly extortion of Rs 700,000 has been demanded and police have also found a chit hanging in one the guava trees which contained cellular number and sender’s name as Papu Punjabi. He said that on investigation it was turned out that the requisite mobile number was off since long. He said further probe is underway and whosoever is found involved will be taken to task. On the other hand, Bhutto Estate Manager A D Bhutto, who is also Chairman, Naundero Municipal Committee, told newsmen that he has come to know about burning straws of rice and police have also already visited the place of incident. He said that it is not clear from the chit as to who has been asked to pay monthly extortion. He said he is trying to get more information from the guava orchid contractor of Bhutto Estate.

Police special team was also despatched to the incident place by SSP Larkana Masood Bangash which collected evidence from the guava orchid, followed footprints and inquired further details about the incident.

Meanwhile, it is also learnt that trees were chopped off in the past as well by the habitual criminals but cops did nothing to eliminate offenders of law once for all who are operating openly and daringly without fear of cops.
