Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Hazara Police Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman has issued strict instructions to all the DPO’s of Hazara Division for the enforcement of Section 144, saying that no one violating the law should be spared. He added that at the cost of a few violates, the lives of others should not be put at risks, and added that all the SDPO’s and SHO should take care of the government employees, bank staff, health workers and employees of the private organizations involved in welfare activities and are dealing in essential services. DIG asked the general public to restrict their movements and keep the distance at the time of making purchases of groceries, medicines and other food-related items. However, peoples at large had complained about the traffic blockade by the Abbottabad Traffic police on the main roads and no movement of vehicles were allowed in different parts of the city resulting use of narrow streets by the commuters in different parts of the city and had created traffic hazards due to uncalled traffic diversions. In the meantime, 422 peoples were arrested in different parts of Hazara Division against the total 344 cases registered in Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram and Kohistan district on the violation of section 144. Due to withdrawals of salaries and pensions from the banks especially at NBP, HBL and other banks, a large number of peoples were seen and no safety measures were adopted by the customers as well as by the Banks, the distance as no “Q” were seen but there were crowds of the customers.
