Lockdown has drastically affected daily wagers in Gujranwala: PPP

Author: Our Correspondent

Owing to coronavirus, the lockdown in Gujranwala has drastically affected the daily wagers. There is just the announcement of relief package for labourers by the government but no implementation. Government must waive the bills of consumers of five hundred units of electricity and thousand units of gas per month. These thoughts were expressed by city Secretary Information Gujranwala Sagheer Butt.

On this occasion, President Rana Muhammad Haneef, President Traders Wing Malik Bhutto, Chand Gujjar, Raees Butt and Yasir Butt were also there.

There is a global crisis due to this coronavirus. And there is no difference in Pakistan. In Pakistan, millions of people are daily wagers and earn for their families, but now they are forced to be locked down. Owing to this daily, people have become unemployed and now it has become difficult for them to earn for their families. In addition to this, the high utility bills are nothing but another crisis. This will be a blessing if the government would compensate daily wagers in utility bills. The government must waive the bills for five hundred units of electricity consumers and one thousand units of gas consumers per months, and suspend the bills for household, commercial and industrial consumers so that the lives of the common people could be made easier. He said that eatables are being provided at doorsteps under the guidance of Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto. The Punjab government must follow in the footsteps. We have to win corona as well as the economic war. He prayed to God for forgiveness and taking away this curse. “God with His grace give victory to Pakistan against coronavirus and economic war.”
