KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has established an inquiry committee to look into corruption charges in development projects in District Kamder-Shahdadkot and has directed to submit report within a week.

Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah heard the case and directed to establish a committee headed by District and session Judge Larkana comprising of other members Inayatullah Morio, advocate for respondents, Arif Soomro, advocate for applicant.

The applicant Imtiaz Brohi has filed an application against the corruption in construction of roads projects. He made Govt. of Sindh, Chief Secretary Sindh, Secretary Works and Services Sindh, Executive Engineer roads Qambar-Shahdadkot, the party and submitted that the budget of said project has been extracted by giving tenders of the projects to blue-eyed men.

Assistant advocate general (AAG) Barrister Mustafa Mahesar argued that the petitioner has filed a case from the plate form of United Construction Company, while the real owner of the company has submitted an affidavit that petitioner Imtiaz Brohi has no any affiliation with his company. AAG submitted that petitioner has not got locus-steady and is not aggrieved party so his application may be rejected.

The Chief Justice ordered to form an inquiry committee and directed it to investigate the matter and submit complete report before the court within a week.

The application was filed in June-2016, and in the same month the Chief Justice sajjad Shah had imposed ban on the construction of the said projects, and now after a period of two months an inquiry committee has been formed.
