KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday gave ruling that the water supply system in Karachi should be made accordingly. The SC directed the MD WB to close all 13 water hydrants through out the city and establish one water hydrant in each district of the city by open bidding.

“We are living in Defense officers Housing Authority (DHA) not a single drop of water is supplied to our houses through the pipelines. People of every class live here but nobody is ready to own the city institutions whom are available but employees are ghost who are only drawing salaries and the water supplied at their homes in the city is un drinkable” remarked CJ adding that the Court could not disregard this public issue.
Apex court ordered the MD water board to install meters for water supply in entire city and to propose names of the consultants who would enable equal water supply system for whole of the city. The hearing was adjourned for an indefinite period.
