Not taken into confidence for lockdown: Sheikh Rasheed

Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed has claimed that he was not taken into confidence for the lockdown.

While talking to media reporters, the railway minister said that the trains were likely to be closed tonight, all trains would stop after reaching the destination tonight.

Sheikh Rasheed said that it was the responsibility of the federal government to help people’s problems and in the present situation. The decision to stop 46 trains would be halted today.

He earlier announced that no railway activities would be suspended amid coronavirus fear. Sheikh Rasheed said that while following the precautions required, we need to keep going about our lives.

Moreover, in the wake of prevailing situation of an increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province, the Sindh government on Saturday sought Pakistan Army’s help to deal with the deadly virus.

In a letter to the Ministry of Interior, the Sindh government requested to deploy armed forces in aid to civil power in the province under Article 245 of the constitution.
