Strict action was taken against all the MPAs who called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar as the party suspended their membership while seeking a reply within seven days. On the whole, six MPAs held meeting with the CM Punjab but the party decided to take action against three MPAs while giving another chance to remaining three lawmakers from Punjab.
As per the details, the show cause notices were sent to all the six MPAs of PML-N who held meeting with CM Punjab the other day in Lahore while expressing confidence over his leadership. The show cause notices were sent by PML-N Punjab General Secretary Sardar Awais Khan Leghari who is also an MPA from DG Khan. The notices were separately sent to Muhammad Ghiyas ud Din MPA from Narowal, Nishat Ahmad Khan Daha MPA from Khanewal, Faisal Khan Niazi MPA from Khanewal, Chaudhry Ashraf Ali Ansari MPA from Gujranwala, Muhammad Arshad MPA from Bahawalnagar and Azhar Abbas MPA from Muzaffargarh.
“The Parliamentary Advisory Group decided to take legal action against MPAs Nishat Daha, Ghyias ud Din and Ashraf Ali Ansari while remaining three will be called on personal hearing,” PML-N Punjab Information Secretary MPA Azma Bukhari told Daily Times. She told this scribe that the replies of all the six MPAs were not satisfactory but we decided to give another chance to MPAs Muhammad Arshad, Azhar Abbas and Faisal Niazi. These three MPAs will be called by the Parliamentary Advisory Group for personal hearing in next few days, she said. “We took stern action against three MPAs because of their criticism for the party leadership and now a legal action will be initiated against them,” she said. MPA Azma further added that the reply of all the six MPAs was written by a same single person and according to our information it was drafted by the Law Secretary of Punjab Government. These decisions were made in the meeting of Parliamentary Advisory Group of Punjab held in Model Town on Thursday chaired by Punjab President Rana Sanaullah.
According to the show cause notices that were also available with Daily Times, these have been sent to respective MPAs on violation of party discipline and party rules as you got elected on PML-N ticket and election symbol of tiger. The notice further said that it was appeared in the print and electronic media that you held meeting with Chief Minister and expressed confidence in the leadership of CM and PM. The MPAs also held a meeting with the Prime Minister who is also Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, it added. The party has already suspended their membership of PML-N.
It is pertinent to mention here that the MPAs had also dared the party to take action against them after having meeting with the Chief Minister. They were of the view that no rule was violated in meeting with the CM as they met him to discuss the issues of their constituencies and development funds for their areas. It is not for the first time that the MPAs of PML-N have met the leadership of ruling PTI as a group of over a dozen MPAs from PML-N also met with Prime Minister Imran Khan at Banigala but party didn’t take any action against them and most of them are the same that met with CM this time. There are reports that a forward bloc is in the making within the PML-N as most of the MPAs aren’t happy with the party leadership that is silent for the past sometimes till Maryam Nawaz spoke few days ago in Islamabad after a long time.
