PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) distributed cheques worth Rs 8.843 million among those deceived by the Afridi Hajj and Umrah Service Peshawar.
As per detail, the accused persons were running a fake Travel Agency in the name of Afridi Hajj & Umrah Services Private Ltd Peshawar. They collected approximately Rs 340,000 to Rs 380,000 per pilgrim (Haji) in the garb of private Hajj facility.
The Director General NAB Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan distributed the cheques amounting to Rs 8.843 million amongst 31 affected in the 2nd Installment of Afridi Hajj & Umrah Services Pvt Ltd Peshawar at a ceremony held at the NAB office here on Tuesday.
The affectees were made to go to the entire Hajj application process. They also arranged a training session for the hujjaj at Roman Shadi Hall, Ring Road Peshawar, where Ahhram, Bags & Books were distributed among them. They were given different dated tickets for flights but when the hujjaj reached the airport they found out that the accused persons have deprived them of their hard earned money.
During the course of inquiry the accused persons accepted his guilt and returned the looted money.
