ISLAMABAD: Former principal information officer Rao Tehseen has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against declaring him responsible in Dawn leaks matter. Tehseen filed a petition on Tuesday making Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s secretary, broadcasting and interior ministry secretaries’ respondents.

The petitioner requested the court to issue orders of providing him with a copy of the inquiry report and took the plea that he approached the commission on dawn leaks matter but copy of inquiry report was not given to him which is gross violation of law and constitution. Because the report of inquiry committee tainted his career and held him responsible, he added. The news found way to the media on June 7 or 8 that dawn leaks inquiry commission report has been issued while obtaining inquiry report is his legal and constitutional right, he said. Therefore the court should issue orders for provision of the copy ofthe inquiry report to him as it is his legal and constitutional right. It is vital to mention here that PM special assistant Tariq Fatemi, former information minister Pervaiz Rasheed and PIO Rao Tehseen were held responsible in Dawn Leaks matter and were removed from offices.
