RAWALPINDI: The Inspector General of Punjab Police has sought a record of SHOs and sub-inspectors having bad reputation deputed in Rawalpindi. Reliable sources told Daily Times that the IG of Punjab Police had issued special orders to formulate and submit a list of Station House Officers (SHOs) and sub inspectors who had served with suspension orders and show cause notices for their alleged involvement in corruption, bribery, poor investigation and bias. The IG Punjab has also directed the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, to prepare a list of officials who have been serving at the same station for a long time by virtue of political backing. He also sought a record of those serving officials against whom either case of heinous crimes including murder have been registered or their arrest warrants have been issued for not appearing before a court of law. The RPO’s office also ordered to send a record of those police officials whose salary was stopped by the department. An official associated with the police department told Daily Times that the special branch had started gathering data and records in this regard and a final list would be sent to the IG Punjab after collecting all the required details.
