He said this while addressing a gathering at the residence of PPP leader Azizur Rehman Chan in Lahore on Sunday.
Bilawal said that whenever the PPP had come into power, the people of Lahore and Punjab had supported the party. “The party has always worked for the common people of this country. The PPP always worked for students, youth, women, labourers and small growers.” Criticising the present rulers, he said that the PTI government had sacrificed the economic rights of the people at the altar of the IMF. “The PTI’s deal with the IMF is against the [interests of the] people of Pakistan. The PPP always strikes a deal for the benefit of the people.” He said that incapable government of the PTI had brought economic miseries to the people.
He said that whenever the PTI or the PML-N bring any bailout package, they are always for the rich and they think that trickle down will benefit people, but it only makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. “The PPP always bring relief package for the lower strata of the society. Everyone benefits from the PPP’s package, which includes an increase in pay and pensions.”
He asked the people to support him like they had supported his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his mother Benazir Bhutto. According to Bilawal, the people of Lahore always showed their love for the PPP as he said that this city gave a warm welcome to his mother Benazir Bhutto when she returned from self-exile in 1986.
