Pakistan invalidates fake NICs of terror financiers

ISLAMABAD: Fake national identity cards (NICs) of three key financers of terrorists have been revoked by Pakistan who acquired citizenship fraudulently by showing fake documents to the Pakistani authority.

According to media reports, they were financing to terrorists based organizations in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Decision has been made on intelligence agencies reports.

The identity cards of 30 members of their families have also been blocked by the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) on request of the intelligence agencies.

They showed themselves as residents of Killa Abdullah, a district in north-western Balochistan which borders Afghanistan. Malik Noorzai, a brother of Faizullah, had obtained a CNIC under the fake name of Allah Ditta. Eleven family members of Faizullah, 14 of Malik and five of Kherullah also possess Pakistani identity cards. DAWN News reported.

According to reports, special meeting was held after the death of Mullah Akhtar Mansour, who was killed in an US drone strike and he was a leader of Afghan Taliban. He was also found in possession of Pakistan identity card and passport.

According to the Treasury Department website, Faizullah served as a prominent Taliban financier. He also collected more than $100,000 for the Taliban from donors in the Gulf. His identity car has also been blocked by the Nadra.
