RAWALPINDI: At least seven gamblers have been rounded up during a raid in Cantonment police jurisdiction.
On a tip-off, the police raided at Nazir Plaza in Cantonment area in Rawalpindi and rounded up seven alleged gamblers recovering stake money and cell phones from their possession. The gamblers were identified as Sher, Ashfaq, Anwar, Zeeshan, Bilal, Akbar and Asad, the police also claimed to have recovered Rs 5,000 in cash, three cell phones and gambling items. The suspected persons have been shifted to relevant police stations for further investigation. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, two persons have been booked for allegedly hurling life threats within the Bhara Kahu Police jurisdiction.
Shahid Akbar Abassi, a resident of Bhara Kahu, lodged a complaint with the local police that Raja Sohail, and Waqas had hurled life threats at him over a petty issue. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
