LONDON: Seamus Coleman gives all of the credit of Everton’s best start to the season in 38 years to the “hard work” demanded by Everton manager Ronald Koeman.
The Toffees came from behind to beat Middlesbrough 3-1 on Saturday, as they remain unbeaten in the Premier League, having won four and drawn one of their five league games this season.
The Merseyside club have 13 points, same as their start to the 1978/79 season, when they finished fourth as city rivals Liverpool won the First Division title.
“You would rather start this way than what we’ve started like the past couple of season,” said Coleman, one of Everton’s goalscorers against Middlesbrough.
“Winning games breeds confidence and going into the next one we will feel we can win that,” the Republic of Ireland international added. “We’re not looking to the end of the season and where we can finish. We’re just looking at the next game and want go into the international break with two more wins.”
