RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Hindu Sikh Social Welfare Council has asked the government to help save their holy places from land mafia.
A meeting of the council was held on Monday, which was attended by large number of people belonging to Sikh and Hindu community.
President of the Council Sardar Heera Lal said their holy places including, temples, shamshan ghats (graveyards) had been occupied by the land mafia. “These people are so powerful that they are not afraid of any government department,” he said. “I have been informed that Swami Narain Mander situated in Gawalmandi has been closed. This mander must be returned to Hindu community for their worship. We appeal to the concerned authorities that our holy places must be handed over to our council for better look after to the sacred places,” he said.
