PESHAWAR: The think-tank of the Awami National Party (ANP) will hold two consecutive meetings to discuss the ongoing drive against militancy and Pak-Afghan relations. According to a source, the leaders of the Awami National Party and members of the party’s central executive committee will hold two meetings: one at Wali Bagh in Charsadda today (Monday) while the other will be convened at Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar on September 20 . ANP Chief, Asfandyar Wali Khan, will chair both the meetings. The cabinet and senior members of the party will discuss the current crisis looming over the country and the new phase of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtukhwa (KP) and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
The meeting will also approve an agenda for the central committee meeting scheduled to be held at Bacha Khan Markaz onSeptember 20. It is pertinent to mention here that the ANP leaders have serious reservations against the provincial government over the forced repatriation of Afghani nationals from the province. The party has also stressed upon the Pakistan Tekreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government time and again to make a peaceful relation with Afghanistan possible. The party has termed that the respectable repatriation of Afghani nationals could play a vital role in the future relations between the two countries. According to the sources, party members will also consider the growing hostility of Islamabad and New Delhi and its party stand over the Panama scandal. Similarly, the leader of the nationalist party will consider the stance of ongoing terror and violent acts in the Pakhtun-dominated region of the country.
