New Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here on Monday.
During the meeting chief minister said the police force has a key role in the maintenance of law and order in Sindh province. The chief minister further said he want a police department that creates a sense of relief and protection and not a cause of concern, he added.
IGP Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar assured the chief minister steps for further improvement of the law and order in the province.
The new IGP Sindh will take charge of office today, a spokesperson of the chief minister of Sindh has said. The federal government appointed the new police chief in light of the Sindh government’s demand.
Earlier on Feb 1, Murad Ali Shah had written his third letter to the federal government for removal of IGP Kaleem Imam and pick one of the five names proposed by the Sindh government for the top police boss in Sindh.
